### **Nature**

Covered in snow all year round, Riggs was a huge glacier with labyrinths of ice caves. Frosts and day-long blizzards followed each other. Perennial ice covered the Great ocean, which was full of fish, mollusks, and dangerous deep-water creatures.

### Population

The locals were divided into tribes, avoided strangers, and always kept their weapons ready. Skilled fishermen and warriors, they adapted to the harsh conditions.

The Riggsters made ice holes to dive into the ocean, and harpoon fishing had become their main source of livelihood — as well as the main cause of death. Krakens and other predators were waiting for an inexperienced angler to let his guard down.

In the evenings, most of the villagers went to pubs to drink ale. Usually not quite friendly, they turned chatty after a few glasses, so all the neighbors could hear their stories.

### Rulers

Each tribe had a chieftain — a strong and fierce leader who would kill and die for their tribe, land, and dignity. Their short tempers often sparked fights and even wars. The only people they would listen to were the storm whisperers who conveyed the will of gods to the mortals.

### Folklore

The Riggsters believed in deadly monsters living in the ocean. While the existence of some is proven, others remain mythical. Among them are serpentfolks — half-humans, half-snakes — who come out of the water at night.

Another legend is the tale of Firge — the giant creature appearing before the eyes of those caught by the snowstorm.
